Q: HOW DID YOU COME TO THE LOWCOUNTRY AND HOW DID COAST COME TO BE?

Rick: I came here after college visiting a friend and got hooked on the natural beauty of the atmosphere of the island.

Tristan: Our family traveled extensively throughout my childhood living in England, South Africa, and Australia. After a few visits to The Carolinas in the late 80’s, my folks crossed the Atlantic and landed on Hilton Head Island. After college, Rick and I met – He was the bar manager at the Quarterdeck. I had just opened Moneypennys.

We quickly built a strong friendship which led to us working together at the Wm F Hilton Company selling real estate in the early 2000’s. In 2005 we sold 200+ properties, and in 2022, we saw an opportunity with a forward-thinking cloud-based brokerage that gave ownership to their agents with stock & revenue share. We started COAST Brokerage by eXp Realty with our support team Donna, Kasie and Caroline, and we now have 75 awesome agents.

Q: WHAT INSPIRES YOUR PASSION FOR SELLING REAL ESTATE IN THIS BEAUTIFUL REGION?

Tristan: I love guiding and helping investors with spec homes and investment portfolios. I’m very passionate about helping first time homebuyers get their first house. I love why there are so many reasons for people to buy here. So many good options for primary, secondary and high performing investments.

Rick: I like when someone who has never been to our area begins to recognize how beautiful it is– how caring and friendly. Most people don’t realize what a strong community we are. I just love the feeling of showing new folks around and seeing them mesmerized by the area. I’ve also met great friends just showing real estate.

Q: WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING OUTSIDE OF WORK?

Tristan: Anything that involves being with my family. I especially like watching my kids play sports! Boating and vacations with the family are highlights for me.

Rick: Coaching lacrosse, hanging with my family and our animals, watching our daughter ride horses and our son play college lacrosse, biking with my wife.
