I set up this blog to share interior design, travel and lifestyle inspiration for simple, relaxed living at home and beyond. You’ll find home tours, advice and tips, interviews, reviews, postcards from places I love and more – always with a focus on minimalism, muted colours and timeless, considered design.

As the organization approaches its 50th anniversary this June, Monte remains focused on its mission to improve the lives of homeless dogs and cats through adoption. His involvement is rooted in a simple but powerful desire to give back and make a meaningful difference.

“I think most people reach a point where they feel called to serve others in a deeper way,” Monte shares. “For me, being an animal lover made that decision easy.” That passion is evident in the way he speaks about the organization and the people behind it. He credits much of the association’s success to its dedicated staff and volunteers who invest countless hours into caring for animals and helping them find loving homes.

What sets the Hilton Head Humane Association apart, according to Monte, is the collective commitment of its team and the genuine compassion that drives their work each day. Whether through adoption services or community engagement, the organization consistently strives to create positive outcomes for both animals and families.

Monte finds the greatest reward in the impact of that work. “At the end of each day, it is fulfilling to know we contributed to someone’s happiness,” he says. From community events to fundraisers and outreach efforts, the organization remains actively involved in bringing people together for a shared cause.

Outside of his role, Monte values time spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories. His personal motto reflects his outlook on life: “Always be positive, appreciate what you have, and work to make a difference before you leave this world.”

They are open Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 4 PM no appointment needed to stop by, visit, or adopt!
